How to convert SVG to 3MF
- Drop your
.svgabove (PNG and JPG work too). - Choose the width in millimetres and the number of colours.
- Set base and layer heights, look at the 3D preview, and download the 3MF.
How the SVG is turned into a model
The drawing is rendered at the detail you choose — 0.2 to 0.6 mm per pixel — and every colour area is traced into a closed outline and extruded. At 0.2 mm the outline is finer than the line a 0.4 mm nozzle draws, so curves print smoothly. Hairlines thinner than the detail setting can disappear; thicken them in the SVG if they matter.
- Fill colours become parts; gradients are reduced to the nearest colours.
- Empty (transparent) areas of the drawing stay empty.
- Overlapping shapes are fine: what you see is what gets printed.
Frequently asked questions
Are the SVG paths extruded directly?
No — the SVG is rendered and traced. This handles overlapping shapes, strokes, clip paths and text exactly as a browser draws them, at the cost of pixel-sized steps (0.2 mm at the finest setting).
My SVG shows up blank or tiny.
Make sure it has a viewBox or a width and height, and that text is converted to paths if it uses fonts you don't have installed.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The SVG is drawn and converted in this browser tab.
