How to convert GLB to STL
- Drop the
.glbabove. - Check the size under the 3D view — glTF is in metres, so game and character models can be huge in millimetres.
- Keep STL selected (tick One file per object for separate STLs) and download.
What changes
- Metres become millimetres and Y-up becomes Z-up, so the model stands on the bed.
- Vertices that glTF splits for normals and textures are merged, giving a closed mesh where the model is closed.
- Colours and textures are dropped — STL has none. Use GLB to 3MF to keep material colours.
- Rigged or animated models are taken in their rest pose.
Frequently asked questions
My STL is far too big in the slicer.
glTF stores metres; a 1.8 m figure becomes 1800 mm. Scale it down in the slicer (for example to 5% for a 90 mm figure).
Can I convert GLB to STL without Blender?
Yes — that is what this page does, in the browser.
Is my model uploaded?
No. It never leaves your computer.
