How to convert PNG to 3MF
- Drop your
.pngabove. - Pick the print width and how many colours (filaments) to use.
- Set the base plate and colour layer thickness, check the 3D view, then download the 3MF.
Why PNG works well
- Transparency becomes the outline. Only opaque pixels are turned into material — no square plate around your logo unless you want one.
- Flat colours stay exact. A PNG logo with four colours gives four parts with exactly those colours.
- No compression smudges. Unlike JPG, edges stay clean, so fewer specks need cleaning up.
Antialiased edges (the soft pixels around shapes) are assigned to the nearest colour.
Frequently asked questions
My PNG has a white background, not a transparent one.
Tick Cut out the background colour: the colour along the image border is left out.
What size should my PNG be?
About 300–1000 pixels across is plenty. The image is resampled to the print width; at 0.3 mm detail, a 100 mm print uses about 330 pixels.
Is my PNG uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser.
