How to convert 3MF to STEP
- Drop the
.3mfabove — slicer projects with plates and parts work. - Choose a plate or untick objects you don't want.
- Keep STEP selected and click Download STEP.
What carries over
- Objects and parts as separate bodies, with their names.
- Positions from the project (or centred on the bed if you leave Center on the bed on).
- Modifier, negative and support volumes are left out unless you tick them.
- Colours, print settings and paint data don't exist in STEP and are dropped.
Like every mesh-to-STEP conversion, the result is made of flat faces — see STL to STEP for what that means in CAD.
Frequently asked questions
Can I convert just one plate?
Yes. Choose the plate in the Plate list before downloading.
Does it keep the parts of a multi-colour model separate?
Yes: every part becomes its own body, so a multi-part print arrives in CAD as several bodies.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Everything runs in your browser.
